A LaGrange man called 911 on his cellphone during a traffic stop Wednesday as police were arresting him.

The man refused to get out of his car and told the 911 operator that he was being harassed by a police officer.

Police stopped the man for running a stop sign on Mitchell Avenue. After learning that the man’s license was suspended, the officer ordered him to exit the vehicle. The driver refused, prompting officers to pull him from the car.

Officers said the man gave the 911 operator a “play-by-play” account of the arrest while they were wrestling him to the ground.

Police subdued the man with a Taser. He was charged with driving with a suspended license and obstruction.
